City of Roses -Part 1The late September sun was setting in the crimson sky, staining the city walls blood red. A bell tolled in the palace high on the hill, announcing the closing of the gates as twilight fell. As last of the workers made their way into the city from the fields, and the gates closed with a resounding boom. Slowly, the streets emptied as the stars came out, one by one.   
High above, Tia sat in her window watching the starlit streets. Her silver eyes scanned the streets, searching for something, before she turned away from her window, sullen.   
“Nothing, nothing at all….” she muttered to herself.

TearsI’m fighting a losing war with my tears,  These battles I’ve fought for so many years.  I can’t seem to win; They won’t stop flowing.  I force my eyes shut but I still live knowing  That no matter what I do they’ll keep falling.  Whilst I’m locked inside my voice is calling.  I’m trapped in my head and can’t be free;  I’ll be shut away forever inside of me.  So tears will keep falling from my eyes;  In the never ending flow I seem to cry,  It’s the only way some of me shows through.  The only way I can reveal it to you. ObliviousAn so another day dawns.  The sky glows a rosy hue,  Birds rowse from their slumber,  And insects buzz by over head.  I watch this fractured beauty  Through tear filled eyes.  Why is it that the World  Is so oblivious to the  Sadness within me?   
And so another day begins.  Walking through halls filled  With laughing shouting students,  My eyes lowered to the floor,  My face blank of expression  Void of all emotions within.  Why is it that the World  Is so oblivious to the  Sadness within me?
